From humble beginnings in 1857 as an engraving studio, throughout the years Moser grew to a factory of international acclaim for its remarkable engravings and brilliant colors inspired by precious stones. Moser's pedigree is impeccable, hailing from the Czech Republic's former region of Bohemia where glass-making began in the 1200s, and by the 1700s was known world-wide as the pinnacle in fine glass and crystal.

Founder Ludwig Moser, an engraver and painter, led his glassworks to establish an early international reputation for quality engraving on glassware, a recognition that encouraged him to commence production of his own glassware in 1893. Moser's reputation was further enhanced through an affiliation with the famous Vienna Workshop which provided an opportunity to execute the designs of Josef Hoffmann. Many of these Hoffmann-designed pieces are in museums and collections around the world.

Under Ludwig Moser's stewardship and later his sons', Moser received awards and recognition practically every year at international exhibitions in Europe and the U.S. Soon Moser became the proud possession of royalty, heads of state and well-known personalities throughout the world, an esteemed reputation that has held fast and continues to grow in the 21st century.

At least 30 skilled crafts people "handle" each piece of Moser before it is finished. Each stage in the production process is a revelation of the craftsmanship and precision that goes into creating Moser crystal.
